You recognize the value of attending the Global SAFe Summit, but how do you communicate that to the person responsible for approving your professional development requests? We know it can be difficult to get approval to attend events and conferences, which is why we’re here to help.
We’ve created a customizable letter just for you! There’s a preview of this letter below, and you can also download it here.

Re: Global SAFe Summit September 30 – October 4, 2019
I’m writing to ask for approval to attend the Global SAFe Summit taking place September 30 – October 4, 2019 in San Diego, CA. It’s a once-a-year event dedicated to providing knowledge, best practices, and insights around SAFe implementations. Here’s why I think it’s essential that we attend:
The Global SAFe Summit is a place to gain access to top SAFe experts, including the creator of SAFe, Dean Leffingwell, and the entire team of SAFe Fellows and senior Principal Consultants. They will be presenting a wide range of SAFe-related topics aimed at helping us leverage the best possible business results with SAFe. I’ll be able to ask questions face-to-face, and get answers that are specific to our unique needs and objectives.
Through keynotes and interactive sessions with Scaled Agile thought leaders and enterprise adopters, I’ll gain actionable insight into the latest tools and strategies to maximizing the value of SAFe, and will be able to overcome roadblocks, and unlock business results. What’s more, I will hear about SAFe transformations directly from enterprises, who will share their SAFe journeys, best practices, and pitfalls to avoid.
There will also be dedicated training. Pre-conference training and post-conference workshops will allow me to deepen and broaden my understanding of SAFe. <Insert which training day you would like to attend>
There is no better place for me to connect with the actual community behind SAFe transformations than at the Global SAFe Summit. I’ll be able to meet other people working on their SAFe practices, identify opportunities for leveraging working relationships, and evaluate service or platform companies that could support our business.
Lastly, the Global SAFe Summit is an opportunity for our voice to be heard. Scaled Agile leadership will take what they learn from feedback sessions to inform critical decisions they will be making about the future of SAFe and its training offerings. It’s in our best interest to contribute to these important discussions.
Here’s an approximate breakdown of conference costs:
Transportation (between home and conference): $ XX
Meals and Registration Fee: $ XX
Hotel: $ XX
Total: $ X,XXX
I’d like to register before July 31 for Early Bird pricing. The conference fee is inclusive of food and event fee.
I’ll be sure to submit a post-conference report that will include an executive summary, major takeaways, tips, and a set of recommendations to maximize the return on our current investments in SAFe.
Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to your reply.
